Porcelain Veneers in Dana Point, CA
Test Drive Your Smile
See your new smile before it’s permanent. Dr. Shalaby’s veneer process starts with a digital preview and same-day temporaries — so you test drive your smile before anything’s final.
Porcelain Veneers, Designed — Not Guessed
A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain bonded over the front of your tooth, built to correct chips, gaps, discoloration, and uneven shape in one cohesive design. The difference at Dana Point Smiles isn’t the porcelain — it’s that you see and live with your new smile before it’s permanent. Dr. Shalaby treats every case as a design problem first, a procedure second.
See chips, stains, and cracks vanish
Porcelain veneers can give you the smile that you have always dreamed of, regardless of your age. They can provide you with straighter, whiter teeth and are among the most popular treatments on the dental market. A veneer is a layer of porcelain that fits over the front of the tooth like a fingernail. Veneers can hide discolored teeth or transform the shape of them. What are the benefits of Porcelain Veneers?
Veneers are a non-surgical solution to problems including tooth gaps, cracked, chipped and stained teeth and incorrectly-sized teeth. They can provide you with the color and efficiency that you are seeking and make eating and talking easier. What’s more is that is normally incredible difficult to tell the difference between your veneers and your remaining teeth. Veneers are also stain-proof. You can maintain your veneers in the same way you would treat your normal teeth.

How does the typical process of getting veneers work?
After a consultation, giving you a full understanding of the process, why each stage needs to occur and deciding that veneers are right for you, we can add the veneers. We will then create a wax model of your smile to show you will your teeth will look like. We usually need to scrape off a tiny amount of the existing tooth surface to ensure the veneer fits properly. This provides the right aesthetics whilst giving the tooth its function back. The process usually takes around three months and you will normally be given temporary veneers. The temporary veneers will give you an insight into how the end result will look and feel and gives us the chance to make adjustments if needed before the permanent veneers are fitted. Once this period is over, you can expect to have bite function fully restored. The process cannot be reversed once the permanent veneers are in place.
We will need to use a gel to roughen up the tooth surface and make the bonding process more efficient. We will use a light wand to send heat through the veneer to the bonding agent and remove moisture to speed up bonding before eliminating any excess cement and polishing the veneer.
